Held every two years, the Biennial Convention serves as a flagship event for Ibadan Descendants’ Union, USA, providing a platform to reflect on progress, address emerging challenges, and chart the course for the future. This year’s convention will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, workshops, and exhibitions, as well as opportunities for networking and professional development.
According to Oloye Abiola Iyiola, the National President, IDU-USA, he stated that this year’s convention would reinforce the core of IDU-USA’s mission which centres around health, education and community development initiatives. “At both the national and the state chapter levels, we have lived up to our core mission, which is giving back to our roots through health, education and community development. Our presence is largely felt in the three areas and we will continue to do more.”
The 13th Biennial Convention will also highlight special milestones, anniversaries, elections, policy decisions, and awards, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to promoting health, academic and economic growth of Ibadan. The most important initiative for this year’s convention is the launch of appeal funds for the proposed IDU-USA Medical Centre to be sited in Ibadan.
